I was holding my breath too! Robina, the third place with you and the baby. Just pools of tears in my ears as I read and reread your words next to my sleeping littlest one.
Here in Ireland the law has changed to assume you *are* a donor who must make a conscious decision to opt out - apparently your NOK gets a say but the baseline has changed - your body is now to be kept 'fresh', as it were, to save another's life.
It makes sense even though for me, it feels 'icky'. It does make sense, and also it does feel like overreach of a sort. But my brain dead body doesnt get a veto when it comes to someone else's life.
There's parallels there. (As well as differences obv)
