😭😭😭😭😭 Your desire to live up to your own ideal of you at a younger age ... that just resonated so much. I haven't had the same experiences as you have as a midwife the last decade, but I too have felt everything in life complicate so much. I've lost some of the shiny ease I honestly didn't even know I had. And yet, that's wisdom, right? There are gifts in those changes. And yet what a test or a passage to allow yourself to embrace and love that new person.

Yes! This is a part of aging I at least didn’t know to expect - how understanding the nuance in life over time is both a gift and a loss at the same time.

These birth story installments are giving me life (there’s a pun in there somewhere) . Seriously, beautiful, raw writing. And what a story! Thank you for sharing Robina ❤️

Oh I love that!!! It makes me so happy the chapter format is fun for people and glad a story with a conclusion everyone knows - a baby is born - can still feel propulsive. :)

I'm late to this, but had to put on Florence singing that song, which instantly had me in tears. I really enjoyed this installment style birth story as I sit here, age 41, 31 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and final baby. All the feels!

Yay!! I’m so happy to hear this. It’s wonderful to get feedback that a story whose conclusion is known at the outset can still be a good story! I loved writing it and crafting it that way.
